Internship Program
Holos Institute strives to provide high quality, sliding scale fee psychotherapy with a central organizing focus on eco-psychology. While eco-psychology is still a broadly defined field, we intend as a community to bring discussion and exploration of various clinical applications that arise from earth based wisdom traditions, imagery or reflections on nature and other such techniques that stimulate a sense of wholeness and restoration of balance in the psyche and whole being. In keeping with the spirit of eco-psychology, Holos seeks therapists who have a genuine interest in depth and transpersonal psychology as it directly relates to practical applications and the "healing" of the individual within the greater social and environmental context. Interns are encouraged to develop their particular style of psychotherapy and the training program is designed to help the "authentic" nature of the therapist blossom and mature.
Holos interns work with a high level of independence. Interns assume responsibility for a "block" of office space , either in Oakland or San Francisco, and manage their own intake and marketing. Holos strives to build a strong community within the training program, actively supporting the individual development of each therapist. Holos interns actually form a community, both in the group and training experiences, and in required collective work to support the institute. Holos provides weekly individual supervision and bi-monthly group supervision/training meetings. In addition, interns are required to participate in occasional in-depth training programs and workshops. All of these meet the B.B.S.E. licensing requirements.
We actively welcome mature, well-grounded, spiritually and psychologically prepared individuals to join our community. Applicants must have completed at least 500 clinical hours to be considered at Holos. We encourage interested interns to participate in some of our programs to get a full sense of the institute.
We are currently accepting applicants on a rolling admissions process. Please contact our intern admissions coordinator, Rob Levine at 510-869-4651 for specific information about the internship. A letter (preferably email) of inquiry will initiate the process. We will follow up with further details about the program, requests for resume, references, letter of intent and finally individual and group interviews.
Please address all inquires and applications via email to info@holosinstitute.net.
