In therapy, the sweet spot is a middle ground between active change and self-acceptance. The process of transformation relies on a dynamic combination of doing and being. |

As therapist I am committed to each client’s unique unfolding. I work holistically to help clients discover what is important for their healing, integration and personal fulfillment. A holistic approach achieves balance by addressing body, mind, spirit and shadow. Depending on a client’s individual concerns and preferences we may work with spiritual awareness and connection, unconscious material, thought patterns and behaviors, eating/health habits, and most likely all of these. In accordance with the individual and what feels appropriate at the time, I may work intuitively or clinically. I draw from a variety of transpersonal psychological orientations, but the foundation for my work is a strong belief in nature as the bearer of truth about who we are. As aspects of nature we each possess an innate ability to heal ourselves. My intention is to help clients awaken natural strengths and inherent wisdom using collaborative, exploratory methods that feel safe and gently challenge you. I respect who you are and where you are on your life’s path. My approach is open-minded, empathic, practical and results-oriented. I’m adept at handling intense feelings, anger and sadness. Areas of expertise are self-expression and creativity, shame, depression, meaning/existential issues, soul evolution and spiritual fulfillment. When I’m not practicing at Holos I design and build sustainably oriented, mostly native gardens. I spend as much time as possible outdoors, hiking with my dog, gardening, reading and enjoying the beautiful bay area. I paint, draw and make things, and am passionate about activities that combine nature, art, spirit and people. I offer therapy to individuals, couples and adolescents in the Oakland office. |
