Mary Good

My approach is diverse and complex, combining 20 years of work and study in the arenas of personal growth, spiritual discipline, earth based healing traditions, ritual, natural history and the aforementioned professional development. I create a safe work space for us by unifying intuition with wisdom mind, offering a compassionate perspective for the challenges you face and respect for the path you have already walked.

Mary Goodi

While the journey that we take together will be unique to your needs, my hope is that your experience will be three-fold:
  1. A peaceful mind stabilized through new intellectual understanding and the employment of mindfulness techniques.
  2. A heart put at ease through the process of conscious allowing for emotional experience, contacting emotions in the body and giving them the attention they need to finish releasing.
  3. A sense of wholeness, vitality and clarity through the gentle integration of previously disowned aspects of your psyche

Ecotherapy (90 minute and daylong sessions in outdoor spaces in the Bay Area) includes the above benefits, as well as the added dimensions of:

  • Deeper understanding of personal cycles by experiencing their correlation with seasonal ones.
  • An increased sense of belonging and place through connection with the natural world and all its inhabitants.
  • A decrease of anxiety, depression and fear through greater intimacy with your internal sources of support, as well as the resources available through a reciprocal relationship with nature.
  • Rejuvenated inspiration for giving back…to loved ones, your community and the environment.
For clients who desire an animistic perspective, I also offer tools for insight such as Tarot, Astrology (birth chart readings and transit analysis) and Shamanic Journeying. My canine companion, Leo, attends sessions with me and offers animal assisted therapy. (Leo passed away September 13, 2011. The warmth of his spirt still accompanies my work.)

I received an M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology from The California Institute of Integral Studies in 2008. After my initial training in Gestalt therapy at the Church Street Counseling Center, I began internship with The Holos Institute where I currently see clients. Prior to graduate school I worked extensively for 10 years with children (infant – 18yrs) as a teacher in theater arts (including drama therapy) and environmental education.

When not in session I enjoy motherhood, studying herbalism, gardening and good coffee.
